I know they are planning on slowly nerfing them to verge of oblivion, but is there some light at the end of the tunnel? I could see them being repurposed to serve as deployable force fields for Citadel seiges since it sounds like Citadels are got too be OP as ****. The aggressors sound like they'll have the odds stacked against them.
Point 2, there are tons of POSes out there that will have no purpose otherwise, after their manufacturing, research, and mobility functionality ends. Might as well give them some use.
Anyway, I'm sure other people have been proposing ideas too, my just curious if anyone can link a CCP statement or Dev blog where they came right out and said their initial plans.
I do believe that your question(s) were adequately answered by others. However, Your question(s) and the numerous related questions posted in GD, S&I, CSM, MD, and Eve IP illustrate just how convoluted the trickle of information from CCP has become on the issue of Citadels. Having read all available devblogs, reddit posts, and CSM minutes ( all 79 pages worth ) in an attempt to answer many of my own questions, like you, I am left with more questions than answers. What disturbed me more than anything was a seemingly consistent reply of "we have not made a decision on that yet" or "Team xxx is handling that and is better suited to answer that question". (quotes mine, more of a paraphrase on my part). The fact that CSM were asking many of the same questions that the player base is asking and receiving little relevant information makes one wonder how the whole design process is able to function! I am not trying to CCP bash. I am just trying to understand how an organization that is about to roll out one of the biggest changes to Eve leaves the player base with the impression of a "build first, plan later" approach. While teaser information and "eye candy" is nice, it is essentially useless for all practical purposes. Hard answers to relevant and important questions is required to make the Citadel expansion successful for "everyone" involved. Like many of you, I hope CCP will take these critiques in a positive light and provide us with factual substance that is relevant and timely. CCP... Spring is nearly upon us, let's get this on the proper path to success!

Civil discourse is uniquely human. After all, when is the last time a pride of lions and a herd of water buffalo negotiated SOV over a watering hole? Never.
Someone either gets their ass kicked or eaten. At the end of the day someone holds SOV.
